Brown University graduate Jonathan van Gieson is in Rhode Island this week collecting material for his upcoming New York production of "Buddy Cianci: The Musical". The production is scheduled to premiere in August, 2003 as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. During his time in the Ocean State, the writer is interviewing community leaders and gathering research about the former mayor. Among the people interviewed has been Mike Stanton, newspaper writer for the Providence Journal. Stanton's book on Cianci is scheduled to hit the bookstands on August 4, 2003.
