McKenna Says Paolino and Igliozzi Are Too Close to Cianci (posted July 28, 2002) Providence Democratic Mayorial candidate Keven McKenna complained that two of his opponents are too close to convicted Mayor Buddy Cianci. Appearing today on the WJAR-TV show "10 News Conference", the candidate noted that "Igliozzi worked for Cianci and Paolino said he was a great guy." Neither would represent a break with the past, he suggested. Instead, he pointed out that "we have a couple of candidates who would give us Cianci 3." McKenna indicated if elected mayor, he would get rid of the mayorial limousine and cut back on the police detail assigned to the mayor's office. "I don't need six policeman baby sitting me," he promised. |
