Weygand and Licht Tied in Senate Campaign Fundraising (posted August 2, 1999)
House Representative Robert Weygand and former Lieutenant Governor Richard Licht are virtually tied in fundraising for their upcoming face-off in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate race. In official campaign finance reports filed July 30, 1999, Weygand raised $379,089.07, spent $39,814.44, and had $540,169.41 cash on hand, while Licht raised $376,840.00, spent $35,230.82, and had $438,481.12 cash on hand. In addition to the money raised from others, Licht loaned his campaign $100,000 from his personal account.
